Commuters travelling to and from Gatwick Airport are being told to expect delays after a communication alarm was activated on a train as it approached Gatwick Airport.

Passengers heading towards Brighton, Eastbourne, Horsham and Portsmouth along the Gatwick Express service may face delays of up to 20 minutes as the trains tries to resume a normal service.

At around 05:43pm the communication alarm was triggered on a train travelling from London Victoria to Brighton which resulted in the train being held on platform seven at Gatwick Station for a total of 13 minutes.

Trains have now resumed a normal service however - delays are expected as staff work to get trains back to a normal service.

Passengers travelling from London Victoria to Brighton via the Gatwick Express as advised to check before travelling.
