People living in Richmond and surrounding areas can now watch a video which details ways in which they can access sexual health services and learn more about HIV testing.

The film follows two people's journeys as they get tested for HIV at a sexual health hub in south-west London and at an outreach event.

The aim is to show people how easily accessible the services are and to also encourage people to get tested regularly as an early diagnosis can give patients access to highly effective treatments which - in turn, allows people living with HIV the ability to live full and healthy lives.

Cllr Piers Allen, Richmond Council Chair of the Adult Social Services, Health and Housing Committee, said: “This film shows colleagues tackling HIV and AIDS around the world about the work going on here in Richmond.

"But it is also a useful way to help our local residents find out more about the services on offer and break down any misconceptions or fears they may have.

“We have worked hard to make sure the support we offer through our partners is accessible, friendly and delivered with the highest levels of professionalism, respect and confidentiality.”

All sexual health services in the film are available across Richmond, Wandsworth and Merton and the film is supported by both Richmond and Wandsworth Councils as well as Spectra-London - a service provider that runs outreach services in three different south London Boroughs.
