Before the sun departed for winter, it shined down on Hilly Fields Park for the Marsha Phoenix Memorial Trust’s fourth Fun Relay Run.
Marked as a success, the Brockley-based charity raised almost £4,000.
In the wake of the charity’s funding cuts, the money raised on Sunday will go towards food and welfare costs across two of their housing programs for young homeless women.
Composed of 17 teams of four, the relay runners included neighbours, local community members and friends.
Volunteers and supporters handed out water bottles with a complimentary cheer of encouragement.
The run was started four years ago by Lewisham Deptford MP and youth advocate Vicky Foxcroft, in efforts to support the community after housing benefits were cut in 2015.
