Firefighters rescued a man from a blaze which damaged part of a block of flats in Battersea.
About 60 firefighters and eight fire engines were called to the 15-storey building on Ingrave Street at about 6.20pm on Thursday.
Fire crews rescued one man who was treated at the scene by ambulance crews, the London Fire Brigade said.
Part of a flat on the 14th floor was damaged in the fire.
Video footage of the blaze on Twitter showed worried people watching from across the street while fire crews ran inside.
The fire was extinguished by 7.28pm and the cause is under investigation.
