THE lash extension industry is big business. Hazel Martin of Luscious Lashes in Glasgow’s West End tells me that some of her regular clients would rather scrimp on daily essentials than lashes and the good quality sort do not come cheap.

While some of her younger clients favour the Russian Volume look. where up to ten, gossamer fine silk lashes are places on each individual lash, Hazel’s big selling point is a highly personalised approach.

So she will take into account the client’s age, ethnicity, eye shape, brow and hair colour, while still honouring the customer’s preferred look.

I’ve got quite large eyes and I’m over 40 so I don’t want anything too Jessica Rabbit so Hazel gives me a more natural form of the Russian Volume.

Glasgow Times:

A patch test must be carried out ahead of the treatment to ensure there is no reaction to the glue and despite having quite sensitive skin I experience no problems.

Hazel is meticulous in her care to ensure it’s a stress-free experience. A little motorised fan is used to calm the eyes if you experience any discomfort and it is instantly soothing.

Glasgow Times:

The lashes should last a good few weeks but to keep them looking luscious, there is an infill service to replace those that have come out as the natural lash grows.

I’m delighted with the result. It's natural, eye-catching and time saving - there is no need to wear any eye make-up.
