A Sanderstead bodybuilder says she wants to inspire others after claiming a win at a recent world championships event.

Michelle Mensah began competing in the sport 15 months ago and had previously been crowned the amateur world champion at the Pure Elite World Championships.

But it was some time away from the game which saw her start to really hit her strides.

"In 2019, after taking an off season to build my physique for ten months, I took part in the Pure Elite Diamonds show in September," she said.

"That's where I took away first place in Routine, first place in Mums who Lift, second place in Fitness and Second place in Gymwear."

Coming off that terrific result, she thought she would push herself even further.

"To finish the year I competed as a professional athlete this time in the Pure Elite World Championships," she added.

Here I placed first in Figure category, first in Fitness, first in Routine, second in Mums Who Lift, fifth in International Model and was crowned the Pure Elite Pro Overall Female World Champion."

Now with a world title under her belt, she is hoping to provide that lift to anyone else looking to get into the sport.

"I want to inspire others to reach their full potential," she said.

"My favourite sayings are 'dream, believe and achieve' as well as 'be that person you want to be'."
