Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to Tooting last night after a driver had a liquid thrown in his face during a car robbery.
Officers were called just before 8.30pm on Tuesday to Fircroft Road.
A man was reported to have been approached by a group of men who threw a liquid at him before stealing his car and driving off.
The victim, believed to be aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital as a precaution. The substance was tested at the scene and was found to be water.
A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service also confirmed they were called and that they sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and its hazardous area response team.
Two fire engines from the Wandsworth Fire Station were also called.
Police have yet to make any arrests and enquiries are ongoing..
