A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder over the fatal stabbing of a Dartford teen.

On October 10, Clinton Evbota was stabbed to death on the Brandon Estate, Camberwell, where he grew up.

The suspect, from Camberwell, was arrested on Tuesday morning on suspicion of murder.

He will appear at Bromley Youth Court today.

Mr Evbota died at the scene near a nursery school shortly after 9pm, an hour after emergency services were called.

Police said the teenager had been chased by a group of men who then set upon him on the ground, inflicting fatal injuries.

Seven other males – aged between 14 and 18 years old – have been arrested as part of the investigation into Clinton’s murder.

A 14-year-old boy has since been released with no further action. The other six have been bailed pending further enquiries.

A gofundme page set up to cover funeral costs by Naomi Ojo read: "On Thursday October 10 2019, a son, brother and friend fell victim to a brutal stabbing.

"Clinton Evbota was a pure hearted person and has never been involved in any knife crime and has never hurt anyone.

"This attack was senseless and now we have lost someone we truly love and care for.

"We ask that you donate what you can, to help us raise money for his mother and family.

"The money will cover the cost of a funeral and whatever else the family may need.

"Thank you all so much, may God bless you."
