The company behind the first professional Pantomime to hit the stage at the newly opened CryerArts Theatre said it is "extremely proud."

Top Cat Productions in in charge of putting out of the first shows as a whole at the new theatre and announced that already more than 2,000 tickets have been sold across a Christmas season of 27 performances consisting of two shows, Beauty and the Beast, and Elf's Christmas Adventure.

Top Cat Productions was founded in 2007 by Tom Franck, who lives in Carshalton with his family. He now runs the Company with his wife Suzie who is also runs Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense businesses in the local area.

Top Cat Productions have been running pantomimes in the area for the last five years.

Tom, who has a Masters degree in Acting and trained at prestigious London drama school Arts Educational Schools London, said: "We are really delighted to be able to bring the magic of live theatre to the local community.

"For a time it looked like Sutton might be the only London Borough without a Theatre which would have been tragic.

"Our shows will not only be hugely enjoyable but also affordable so that we can welcome as many members of our community as possible.

"We are really excited that so many people have already got behind us and we can't wait for them to see our shows."

Here is how Tom described the two shows.

Beauty & The Beast running from 14th-24th Dec

"A truly fantastic pantomime suitable for the whole family," Tom said

"This classic story will be told in an exciting and festive way. With songs, dance, all your favourite characters and laughs for children and adults alike."

Elf's Christmas Adventure running from 16th - 19th Dec

"Suitable for little ones up to 5 years and their grown-ups Friendly Elf, Elvis goes on a fantastical Christmas Adventure," Tom added.

"There will be music, puppets, lights, songs and lots of loveable characters to help introduce young children and pre-schoolers to the wonder of live theatre."
