Darent Valley Hospital welcomed over 100 people to their annual Christmas party, to celebrate the festivities in style with choirs, food, and drinks.

The celebrations took place on Sunday, December 8, which included past and present patients, their families, carers, and friends.

The party, which returned for its 7th year, had a selection of entertainment to choose from ranging from a joyful choir to lively dance acts.

Santa was also present, ready to hand out presents to the children with the help of his elf.

With the final part of the day consisting of a huge Christmas raffle, winner Ms. Hale won a massive hamper of festive goodies that were kindly donated.

Everyone was together, which created a wholesome and happy afternoon for those who have overcome or are currently battling illness.

The day was organised thanks to Jan Agyurek, a chemotherapy support worker who also arranges the hospital's summer garden party which is held in their Macmillan Kite of Excellence Award Gardens.

Chris Handy, Macmillan Lead Chemotherapy Nurse further thanked Jan and said: “Every year Jan organises this and our Summer Garden Party, and year on year they get bigger and better.

“Jan gives up a lot of her own time to make these events such a success and we know how much they mean to our patients – Jan you are amazing.”

The Pine Therapy Unit, which cares for Darent Valleys cancer patients and those with long term conditions, has raised a tremendous £1,906 so far.

The money raised will be spent on improving the environment in which care is received and to enhance the care and delivery within the service.

The high-spirited event turned out to be a massive success, raising money and creating memories patients won't forget.
