Labour’s Matthew Pennycook has been re-elected as MP for Greenwich and Woolwich after winning the seat with 56.8 per cent of the votes and a majority of 18,464.
It was declared early on Friday morning that Pennycook will return as the Labour MP for the constituency after he received 30,185 votes.
The Conservative candidate, Thomas Turrell, came in at second place on election night, receiving 11,721 votes.
He was followed by Liberal Democrat Rhian O’Connor in third place with 7,253 votes, and Victoria Rance of the Green Party in fourth with 2,363.
The Brexit Party candidate, Kailash Trivedi, won 1,228 votes, Christian Peoples Alliance candidate Eunice Odesanmi received 245 votes.
Independent Shushil Gaikwad received 125 votes.
Labour's victory is nothing new for Greenwich and Woolwich, the remain seat has been in Labour's hands since its inception in 1997.
Turnout was 66.4 per cent.
