A 43-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in Streatham Hill on Monday (December 30).

Ealing resident Mark Brazant was charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a pointed/bladed article.

The Met Police said that he is expected to appear in Camberwell Magistrates’ Court later today (January 3).

As the Times reported previously, the stabbing happened after 5pm on Monday evening.

Met Police officers responded to a report of a 36-year-old woman stabbed in Downton Avenue, Streatham Hill.

She was taken to hospital and her injuries have since been assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

The stabbing occurred as the victim was pushing her child in a pushchair.

The child was not injured.

The Met said the 36-year-old mother was attacked from behind and stabbed three times while pushing her child in a pushchair.
