Police have given more details as to why a Section 60 was put in place across Wandsworth and Merton last night.
At 2.28pm on January 23 police were called to reports of an altercation on Montfort Place, Wandsworth.
Officers attended and a man, believed to be aged 18, was found with slash wounds to his face.
Another man, believed to be 17, later presented at a nearby hospital with a stab wound to his arm.
Neither injuries are believed to be life changing or life threatening.
Both were later arrested on suspicion of affray.
A Section 60 was authorised between 6.30pm on Wednesday and 9.30am on Thursday morning.
Under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, Section 60 gives officers the right to search people in a defined area during a specific time period when they believe serious violence will take place and it is necessary to use this power to prevent such violence.
