A Tooting schoolgirl has won a coveted place with West End Kids

Alanis Dalleddone, 17, will join the musical theatre song and dance troupe, following a tough audition and lengthy trial period.

This year she will perform for tens of thousands of people, appearing with the troupe alongside the casts of West End shows and some of the biggest names in entertainment.

Alanis, who is currently a student at Graveney School said: “When they told me I had passed my trial, I literally couldn’t contain my excitement.

"I ran back to the changing room and told everyone with a huge smile on my face.

"Everyone was so supportive and happy as they all know the amazing feeling of passing the trial.

"I remember how in awe I was of troupe, and now I’m a member. I can’t get over it.”

Over the next couple of months the troupe will appear at some major events, including: Move IT 2020 at London’s ExCel Centre, London Half Marathon, Mariposa Ball and St George’s Day Celebrations.

Martin Williams, founder and artistic director of West End Kids added: “We are delighted to welcome Alanis.

“She is a talented young performer and we are confident she will be an asset to our troupe.

"Our audition process is thorough. To be part of our troupe you not only have to be a strong singer and dancer, but you have to be prepared to work hard.

"We are very demanding, but we know that talented kids love to be pushed hard and so that is what we do.”
