Tooting & Mitcham United FC Crowdfunding campaign closes raising over £10,000 for the club from 238 supporters

Tooting & Mitcham United FC launched the crowdfunding campaign on April 24, to help the club survive during its current closure.

The club which has been closed since the middle of March, relies heavily on matchday revenue, the bar and hire of their facilities, which have all been put to a halt due to the pandemic.

The campaign has been a success, thanks to the generous donations of its supporters, the local community and the clubs sponsors.

Wandsworth Times:

A sponsored run around the pitch by Joint First Team Managers Cornelius Nwadialor and Ashley Bosah and coach Myles Warren helped increase donations as the campaign entered the second week.

The donations over the last 4 weeks consisted of various amounts from £5 to £500, with the average donation being £42.

The total sum raised includes £1,900 of sponsorship packages, including 6 mascot packages, 8 for match day sponsorship and 2 purchasing the ‘Friend of T&MUFC package’ for £500.

The remaining amount consisted of general donations which will be divided evenly across all areas of the organisation.

Contributions will be going towards; The recent pitch works carried out, general facility improvements to assist with the safe reopening of the premises, as well as, the first team budget and the youth section for new equipment e.g. balls, bibs and cones.

Chair of Tooting & Mitcham United FC, Caroline McRoyall, said: "We have been overwhelmed with the generosity of our supporters, many of whom have donated more than once to the campaign.

"The money will help the club so much during this time and when we are able to reopen safely.

"We look forward to seeing you all at Imperial Fields soon.
