Firefighters have been called to large blaze in the woods near Darent Valley Hospital this morning.
Four fire engines and a bulk water carrier rushed to an outbuilding off Darenth Wood Road at 4am, Tuesday June 30, and those living nearby are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, after controlled burning in a skip ignited some nearby rubbish and spread to a neighbouring building.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said crews rushed to the scene in Dartford early this morning, using main jets, hose reel jets and water from a hydrant to tackle the blaze.
The fire was under control by around 7am, and the fire service has said that firefighting work is now complete.
A warning to those living and working nearby to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution against the smoke has now been removed.
