A five-year-old has sadly died in hospital after being found injured at an address on London Road.
Emergency services were called to reports of two people injured at Monarch Parade, at around 4 pm on June 30.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and a woman and a child were inside a property suffering injuries.
The woman, aged 35, has been rushed to hospital where her injuries are deemed life-threatening.
The child was also taken to hospital however was pronounced dead shortly after.
Her next of kin has been informed.
A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: "Officers remain in the area and a crime scene is in place.
"At this early stage, police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident."
There has been no arrests at the time of publishing.
Enquiries into the incident continue.
