Images from the scene of the crash on Garratt Lane on Tuesday (July 21) have emerged showing the wreckage of the two cars involved.
As the Wandsworth Times reported Tuesday, three people including two police officers were injured in the crash, which occurred around 10.18am in Wandsworth.
Police officers, teams of paramedics and firefighters all rushed to attend the scene and help rush the three people involved to hospital.
One of the cars involved was an unmarked police car carrying the two Met Police officers who were injured.
Road closures in the busy area in central Wandsworth were put in place after the crash as the emergency services continue to attend the scene.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service (LAS) told the Wandsworth Times that all three of those injured had been rushed to major trauma centres after receiving treatment at the scene:
"We were called at 10:19am today (21 July) to reports of a road traffic collision on Garratt Lane, Wandsworth," they said.
"We dispatched a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews, medics in fast response cars, an incident response officer and our hazardous area response team (HART). We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
"We treated three people at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre," the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, the Met have said that officers from their Roads and Transport Policing Command were investigating the crash.
