AN APPEAL for witnesses has been launched following a bizarre incident in Gwynedd, during which a masked man, claiming to be a doctor, was found in someone's kitchen.

North Wales Police say the incident occurred at around 7pm on Saturday, July 25 in the Llys Geraint area of Maesgeirchen, just outside Bangor.

A woman was watching TV in her lounge, when she was startled by the man who was in her kitchen.

He is described as white, approx 6 ft tall, with grey hair, and slim build. He wore a long grey coat and carried a brown leather bag. He also wore a face mask and a visor.

The intruder introduced himself as a Doctor from Glanfa Surgery, Bangor and said that he was doing home visits. When the householder told him that they had neither requested a visit from a doctor nor were indeed patients at Glanfa Surgery Surgery, the man has left hurriedly, stating that he had 'gone to the wrong house'.

Police say the incident was 'suspicious' and that they are also interested in a grey vehicle seen in the area, possibly a Peugeot 306, around the time of the incident.
