Police are appealing for information after two men were injured in a drive-by moped shooting on Friday.

Officers were called to reports of gunshots on Loughborough Road, Brixton, at 6.52pm.

It is believed a person on a moped fired shots towards a pedestrian before leaving the scene.

Two men, aged 20 and 39, later presented themselves at hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. Their conditions were not life threatening.

No arrests have been made.

There were another two shootings and one stabbing on what proved to be the hottest night of the year.

Two men were hostpitalised after gunfire broke out at an unlicensed silent disco in Hackney. 

A third shooting took place in Croydon, leaving a young man with non-life-threatening injuries.
