A 9-year-old from Mitcham has been announced as the new voice for South Western Railway stations.

Teenasha Santuck will be asking passengers to wear face coverings after winning a competition amongst children of railway staff.

Teenasha was awarded a £50 gift voucher, certificate and goodie bag in recognition of her success.

The announcement will read: "Hello, I am Teenasha and my mum works for South Western Railway.

"If you’re travelling today, you must wear a face covering.

"This will help keep my mum safe and mean I can see her smile when she gets home from work.”
