Police have confirmed that a man has died and an 11-year-old child is in a life-threatening condition after a crash involving a bin lorry in Kidbrooke this morning.

Emergency services, including Met Police, London Ambulance Service, the air ambulance, and London Fire Brigade, have all been on the scene since around 8am this morning in Broad Walk.

It is understood a bin lorry crashed into multiple parked cars in Broad Walk, near Rochester Way, before crashing into a house.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Police were called at approximately 08:05hrs on Monday, September 14, to Broad Walk, SE3 by London Ambulance Service to a road traffic collision involving multiple vehicles and a building.

"Officers are on scene with London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade.

"At this time, we are aware of multiple people being injured.

"An 11-year-old child, no further details, was taken to hospital. Their condition has been assessed as life-threatening. Two males, no further details, have been taken to hospital. We await an update on their condition.

"Sadly one man, no further details, has been declared dead at the scene. Work is ongoing to trace their next of kin.

"Road closures are in place and the public are asked to avoid the area."

Officers confirmed enquiries are ongoing.
