A 12-year-old boy was reportedly approached by a man in Crayford yesterday morning and told to "get into his car".
Police have issued an appeal for information after the incident was reported in Shuttle Road.
Officers were called to the scene shortly before 9am on Thursday (September 17) to reports of a man acting suspiciously.
A Met Police spokesman said: "Officers attended and spoke to the mother of a 12-year-old boy who reported he had been walking along the road when a man told him to 'get into his car'.
"The man is reported to have left the area in the vehicle.
"Officers carried out enquiries at the scene but couldn’t find any trace of the suspect or car."
