A whole year group at a Dartford grammar school are self-isolation following a confirmed case of coronavirus.
Wilmington Grammar School for Girls instructed 147 pupils in year eleven, which is mixed, and four members of staff to stay at home for two weeks until October 2.
The rest of the school remains open, as years are separated into ‘bubbles’.
Mrs Michelle Lawson, Head Teacher, said: “Unfortunately, we have had a confirmed case of Covid-19 within our school community.
“Having followed Public Health England (PHE) guidance, 147 pupils in our Year 11 bubble and four members of staff are now self-isolated at home until October 2nd.
“Remote learning began immediately, and staff will support students with this. I would like to thank our students, parents and carers and staff for their ongoing support and hard work at this time.
“The rest of the school remains open with staff and students continuing to follow PHE guidance in terms of social distancing, handwashing and cleaning to minimise the spread of the virus and ensure pupils and staff can continue to learn and work in a safe environment.”
