PUB landlords have announced they are not closing after customers tested positive for Covid-19.

Bosses at the Hope and Anchor pub in Ulverston have revealed that two of their punters have received positive tests for Covid-19.

The landlords said they have been informed they do not have to shut the pub and will continue with their sanitising procedures.

A spokeswoman said: “Two of our customers have tested positive for Covid.

"We all wish them a speedy recovery and thank them both for letting us know.

“We have, of course, taken advice on how to deal with this situation.

“It is vital everyone continues to scan in or leave contact details when they visit the Hope and Anchor, or any other pub.

“Going for a pint, or glass of wine in your local, is safer than a trip to Tesco, a train journey or going to university. Thanks for your continued support through these difficult times.”
