A man was fatally stabbed in Brixton on Sunday evening (November 22), police have said.

A number of ambulances and police vehicles rushed to the scene on Ramillies Close in Brixton Hill, where the man who was stabbed was found.

Despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police, who have since launched an investigation into the fatal stabbing, said they were working to inform his relatives.

Responding to a request from the Wandsworth Times, a spokesperson for the Met Police said:

"Police are investigating a fatal stabbing after they were called at 17:59hrs on Sunday, 22 November by the London Ambulance Service to Ramillies Close, Lambeth, SW2.

"Officers attended along with colleagues from the London Air Ambulance, but the man, aged in his twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Police are trying to trace his next of kin. No arrests have been made at this stage.

"A crime scene remains in place at the location, and officers are continuing their enquires.

"Anyone with information can contact the police on 101, quoting CAD 5428/22NOV."
