A DRIVER who failed to stop following a crash has been banned from the road and ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
Andrew Lesley Wilson of Etterby, Carlisle, admitted two offences - relating to an incident on October 8 - when he appeared at the city’s magistrates court on Thursday.
He admitted failing to stop after a crash on the A689 near Cargo. Court papers state a Skoda Fabia, driven by Wilson, caused damage to a white BMW.
He also pleaded guilty to failing to provide a breath test to police without a reasonable excuse.
Wilson has been disqualified from driving for two years. The disqualification will be reduced by 24 weeks if he completes a driving course before April 10, 2022.
A community order was made and Wilson is required to comply with the requirements until May 25, 2022. He has 12 months to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
He must also pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
