A 19-year-old who was found in possession of cocaine has left court with a £290 bill which must be paid by Christmas Day.
Liam Delaney, of Scotland Road, Carlisle, admitted being in possession of the class A drug on September 12, when he appeared at the city’s magistrates’ court yesterday.
He was fined £171 for the offence.
He must also pay £34 to fund victim services and £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The cocaine has been forfeited under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and destroyed.
Delaney has a month to make his payments.
