A new pizzeria is opening in the heart of SW18.

Independent Italian restaurant, Zia Lucia, is set to bring its gourmet four doughs to the Old York Road on December 11.

And to celebrate the restaurant’s first week of opening, customers can get 50% their entire bill – for both to dine in and take away.

Known for its 48-hour slow-fermented doughs, which include traditional white flour, wholemeal, gluten-free and black vegetable charcoal base, it offers a cut above the classic Neapolitan crust.

The restaurant's founders have also partnered with Brighton brewery, Laine Brew Co., to create a range of craft beers and which complement the various pizza doughs.

Named Birra Cabriolè, the new brand features a crisp and refreshing unfiltered lager.

Zia Lucia’s fifth branch since its Holloway Road opening in 2016, the space has a seated capacity of 60 which can be switched into delivery mode should further lockdowns occur.

Founders Claudio Vescovo and Gianluca D’Angelo hope Zia Lucia will become a firm favourite within the neighbourhood.

“We are thrilled to be opening a Zia Lucia in Wandsworth, we love the area with its great community feel – something that's very important to us! Old York Road has a real village atmosphere which works perfectly with our Zia Lucia family ethos.

“We look forward to welcoming Wandsworth residents and those passers-by alike into our new pizzeria, and to those who haven't been to a Zia Lucia before, expect our unique four types of dough, delicious toppings, home-made desserts, craft beers, cocktails and Italian wines!

“When looking at where to open this site, we were overwhelmed by the response from all over London – we're so happy that we chose Wandsworth this time around and hopefully more locations to come!

Zia Lucia will be open Monday to Sunday from 11:30am until 22:30pm. Delivery is also available on Ubereats, Deliveroo and Justeat.
