With lockdown restrictions having eased this week, coronavirus infection rates are still relatively low across southwest London – though Croydon has recorded a small rise in cases.
The impact of the restrictions ease will not become clear for at least two weeks as it can take that long for symptoms to develop after exposure.
The figures, for the seven days to April 10, are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two).
The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.
Data for the most recent four days (April 11-14) has been excluded as it is incomplete and does not reflect the true number of cases.

Of the 315 local areas in England, 65 (21%) have seen a rise in case rates, 242 (77%) have seen a fall and eight are unchanged.
The information is based on Public Health England data published on April 14 on the Government’s coronavirus dashboard.
Croydon was the only borough to record a rise in cases, from 13.4 per 100,000 people (52 new cases) to 16.8 per 100,000 people (65 new cases).

Lambeth recorded the lowest infection rate, with a rate of 12.3 cases per 100,000 people (40 new cases) compared to the previous week’s rate of 16.3 per 100,000 people (53 new cases.
Kingston upon Thames recorded the highest rate of cases, though this was still lower than the previous week.
The borough currently has an infection rate of 27.6 (49 new cases), down from 33.2 (59 new cases).
Wandsworth followed with an infection rate of 23.1 (76 new cases), down from 28.8 (95 new cases) the previous week.

In the latest data Richmond upon Thames has an infection rate of 19.7 (39 new cases) compared to 30.3 (60 new cases) in the previous week.
Merton recorded a rate of 17.4 (36 new cases) against 27.1 (56 new cases) in the previous week, while Epsom and Ewell’s rate was given as 16.1 (13 new cases), down from 27.3 (22 new cases).
Sutton recorded an infection rate of 13.6 (28 new cases), down from 20.8 (43 new cases) the previous week.
