Two people have been arrested following an aggravated burglary in Putney.

A woman in her 30s was approached outside her home in Arabella Drive on Monday morning by two men wearing hats with "police" on the front.

They claimed to be there to conduct a drug search.

When the victim challenged them they forced her inside her home and assaulted her - causing cuts and bruises.

The men searched her home and left with a two-month old female American XL bulldog puppy, which is described as ‘blue merle’.

Cash and Christmas presents were also stolen.

The victim was treated at hospital for injuries before being discharged.

Two people, aged 53 and 34 were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary today (Wednesday).

They remain in custody at a south London police station.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Two men have been arrested as part of an investigation into an aggravated burglary in Wandsworth.

"The pair, aged 53 and 34, were arrested on suspicion on aggravated burglary on Wednesday, 1 December.

"They remain in custody at a south London police station.

"Police were called at 09:58hrs on Monday, 29 November to reports of an aggravated burglary at a residential address on Arabella Drive, SW15.

"At the scene officers found a woman, aged in her 30s, who had been approached outside her address by two males wearing caps with the word ‘Police’ on the front.

"They claimed to be there to conduct a drug search. When the victim challenged them they forced her inside her home and assaulted her causing cuts and bruises.

"The men searched the address and left with a two-month old female American XL bulldog puppy, which is described as ‘blue merle’.

"Cash and a bag containing Christmas gifts were also stolen.

"The victim was treated at hospital for injuries before being discharged.

"Anyone who has information or footage relating to this incident, but has not yet spoken with police should call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 1837/29Nov.
