Bexley Council are offering support to residents who want to organise street parties for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The council has agreed to waive the fee normally required for road closures to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
From June 2 to June 5, Bexley Council will be dealing with requests for parties free of charge, to reduce the costs for party organisers and their neighbours.
Applications must reach the Council by Friday March 11.
In June, Her Majesty will become the first monarch in history to have served her country for 70 years.
Council Leader Teresa O’Neill OBE said: "The Jubilee weekend is a terrific opportunity to pay tribute to the fantastic service that Her Majesty has given to our country.
“After the challenges of the past two years, I am sure lots of people will welcome the opportunity to join their neighbours in celebrating what is a truly historic landmark.”
