Firefighters were called to a blaze at a block of flats in Clapham.

Four fire engines and 25 firefighters were called to the scene today (February 11) shortly before 2.30pm on Poynders Gardens.

The Brigade tackled the fire on the fourth floor where a “small part of a flat” was damaged by the blaze.

The fire was under control by 3pm.

Fire crews from Clapham, West Norwood, and Brixton fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a flat fire on Poynders Gardens in Clapham.

“A small part of a flat on the fourth floor of a block of flats was damaged by fire.

“The Brigade was called at 2.29pm and the fire was under control by 3pm.

“Fire crews from Clapham, West Norwood and Brixton fire stations were in attendance.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
