A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after a crash with a motorcyclist in Tooting.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene at the junction of Southcroft Road and Nimrod Road at around 9.30am this morning.

A woman in her 60s was taken to hospital with a leg injury.

Her condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

The motorcyclist failed to stop at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to trace them.

The road has now reopened.

Any witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 1584/07Mar.

Wandsworth Police initially reported that the crash happened at the junction of Southcroft Road and Beclands Road.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 09:20hrs on Monday, 7 March to reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist and a pedestrian at the junction of Southcroft Road and Nimrod Road, SW16.

"Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service.

"A woman, aged her 60s, was taken to hospital with a leg injury.

"Her condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

"The motorcyclist failed to stop and the scene and enquiries are ongoing to trace them.

"Road closures remain in place.

"Any witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 1584/07Mar."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.14am today (7 March) to reports of a road traffic collision in Southcroft Road, Wandsworth.

“We sent an ambulance crew to the scene.

“The crew treated a patient for a leg injury and took her to hospital.”
