A fire broke out in a 23-storey building in Nine Elms this morning.

Firefighters were called to Viaduct Gardens today (May 10) shortly before 9am.

A small part of an electrical service cupboard on the 21st floor was damaged by the fire.

There were no reports of any injuries.

The fire was under control by 10.04am.

Fire crews from Lambeth, Clapham, Brixton and Peckham fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Five fire engines and around 35 firefighters were called to a fire at a block of flats on Viaduct Gardens in Nine Elms.

“A small part of an electrical service cupboard on the 21st floor of a 23-storey building was damaged by the fire.

“There were no reports of any injuries.

“The Brigade was called at 8.56am and the fire was under control by 10.04am.

“Fire crews from Lambeth, Clapham, Brixton and Peckham fire stations were at the scene.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
