A 17-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a teenager in south London, the Metropolitan Police said.

Rommel McKoy, 16, was found hurt after being stabbed in Hicken Road in Lambeth on April 4, the force said.

He was taken to hospital but died on April 20.

The 17-year-old, who is from Lambeth, is to appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Another boy, aged 16, was arrested following the stabbing and was bailed.

Detective Superintendent Neerav Patel, of the Met’s Central South Basic Command Unit, previously said: “The Met is making significant progress in reducing violence in London but tragedies like this senseless murder remind us all that there is much more to do.”
