Police are trying to trace the family of a man who died after being found with a serious head injury in a Lambeth street.

London Ambulance Service were called around 4.20pm on May 23 to a man injured in Coral Street.

He was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition and died two days later on May 25.

Officers say that his death is unexplained and investigations are ongoing to establish what happened.

A post-mortem examination will take place next Monday.

Police are in the process of identifying the victim and have created a computer-generated image to try and assist with an appeal to find the man’s family.

Police ask anyone who recognises the man in the image or has any further information about what happened to contact them quoting reference number CAD 6746/23MAY.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Officers are appealing to trace the family of a man who died after being found with a head injury in Lambeth.

“At about 16:20hrs on Monday, 23 May, paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called after a man was found injured in Coral Street, SE1.

“The man was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition and died on Wednesday, 25 May.

“Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish how the man died and the death is being treated as unexplained.

“A post-mortem examination will take place on Monday, 6 June.

“We are in the process of identifying the man and are releasing a computer generated image of him.

“We would encourage anyone who recognises the man in the image, or who has information about the incident, to call 101 quoting reference CAD 6746/23MAY.”
