Two passengers have died after a car rolled over during a crash in Battersea late last night.

Latchmere Road remains closed while a crime scene is in place.

Police were called by a member of the public at around 3.24am who told them that a Mini Cooper had rolled over on Latchmere Road, SW11.

London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade rushed to the scene.

Four people had been travelling in the car, but two of them, a man and a woman were found dead at the scene.

Another passenger and the driver were rushed to hospital suffering just minor injuries.

The driver, a 22-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the incident.

Detectives do not believe any other vehicles were involved in the collision.

The road will remain closed while investigations are carried out regarding the circumstances of the crash.

A spokesperson for Wandsworth Police said: “Last night, (Saturday 16th July) at 03:24hrs we were called by a member of the public who informed us that a car had crashed and rolled over on Latchmere Road, SW11.

“Officers attended the scene, along with London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade.

“Four people had been travelling in the vehicle and two of them were tragically declared dead at the scene.

“The driver and a passenger have been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“The driver was subsequently arrested.

“A crime scene remains in place and officers from the Fatal Collision Investigation Unit are leading the investigation into the circumstances that led up to the vehicle crashing.
