Three people have been stabbed following an incident in Central London, on Thursday morning, Police have confirmed. 

City of London Police officers and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) paramedics quickly attended the scene in Bishopsgate, near Liverpool Street Station.

A spokesperson for the police force said the ongoing incident is not being treated as terror-related. 

But the force did say that the incident is being treated as a suspected robbery.

In a statement shared they said: "We received reports of three stabbings & a person pushed to the floor on Bishopsgate at 9.46am & officers arrived at the scene at 9.51am.

“Three victims were taken by LAS (London Ambulance Service) to a nearby hospital to be treated.

"This is an ongoing situation, but is not being treated as terror-related.”

Footage shared on social media showed several emergency service vehicles on the road by the 22 Bishopsgate skyscraper.

A London Ambulance Spokesman said: “We were called at 9:52am today (6 October) to reports of a stabbing in Bishopsgate, central London.

“We sent a number of resources including three ambulance crews, two advanced paramedics, two incident response officers, a clinical team manager and members of our Tactical Response Unit.

“Our crews treated four patients. We have now taken three of these patients to hospital and one was assessed and discharged at the scene.”

Sayeed Dukanwala, the owner of BK News, newsagents right next to the scene, witnessed the incident outside 22 Bishopsgate as it unfolded on Thursday morning.

He told the PA news agency: “I was here in my shop working when I saw some guys running past my shop and shouting ‘Oi oi oi’.

“After a few minutes, I saw a fight break out over there (at the scene) and people running away.

“Then some people came in and told me there was a stabbing. They said there was a man and a lady on the floor, and there was blood.”

He added: “I felt scared and unsafe when I heard what happened.

“Something happened to me last weekend, someone hit me with the bottle inside my shop. This area is very unsafe, it’s very scary.”

Nickie Aiken, Cities of London and Westminster MP, said she was “concerned” about the attack.

She tweeted: “Concerned to learn of the incident in Bishopsgate. I’m in contact with City Police for updates.

“My thoughts are with all those involved including the first responders.”

The area of the incident has been cordoned off with officers located across the area.
