A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 20-year-old was stabbed in Clapham yesterday evening.

Police were called to the injured man in Cubitt Terrace at around 5.35pm.

Ambulance crews and London's Air Ambulance were also at the scene.

A man, 20, had been stabbed and was rushed to a hospital in south London.

His condition isn't life-threatening or life-changing.

A 23-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of attempted murder.

He was taken to a police station in south London where he remains.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called by London Ambulance Service [LAS] at 17:35hrs on Tuesday, 18 October to reports of an injured male at Cubitt Terrace, SW4.

"Officers, London Ambulance Service [LAS] and London’s Air Ambulance [HEMS] attended.

"At the scene a male, aged 20s, was found with knife injuries.

"He was taken by LAS to a south London hospital.

"His condition is not life-threatening or life-changing.

"A 23-year-old male was arrested nearby on suspicion of attempted murder.

"He was taken to a south London police station where he remains at this time.

"Anyone who witnessed this incident or has footage should call police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting 5821/18OCT.

A London Ambulance Spokesperson said: “We were called yesterday (19 October) at 5:33pm to reports of a stabbing on Cubitt Terrace, Clapham. 

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an incident response officer, a team leader in a car, and two ambulance crews. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
