The son of a boxing promoter who represents heavyweight Dillian Whyte has become the latest in a string of drill rappers who have died in violent attacks in London.
Lamar Scott, 27, who performed as Perm, was shot after a car chase in Brixton on Sunday.
His father is boxing promoter Dean Whyte who represents Dillian Whyte (no relation) who lost his bid for Tyson Fury’s WBC heavyweight title in April in front of a 90,000-crowd at Wembley Stadium.
Deliveroo driver Guilherme Messias da Silva, 21, who was knocked off his moped as he was making his last delivery of the day, also died during the car chase.
The two men were found injured in Railton Road at around 7.50pm on Sunday evening (October 30).
Detectives believe that two cars were driving in Railton Road and one crashed into a moped, the Deliveroo driver, before further crashing into parked cars.
A man from the car involved in the crash then got out of the vehicle and was pursued by another man armed with a gun from the second car.
The fleeing male, believed to be Lamar Scott, was shot and he died at the scene.
The gunman returned to his car and left the scene.
At this stage, there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
A woman named Shanz, 27, left a bouquet of flowers at the cordon on Railton Road.
She said that she knew one of the men who had died and that they grew up together.
She described him as “kind-hearted” and that he “never let anybody down”.
Haani Samuels, a 30-year-old electrician, lives within the police cordon on Railton Road with his girlfriend.
He said: “I initially thought they were fireworks but my girlfriend said, ‘oh, is that gunshots?’ And I initially thought, well, obviously not. But then it was followed by a big crash. Then we waited for a couple of minutes and then I went to take the bins out.
“Police were like, already there, it seemed like only a couple of minutes after. It was all kind of kicking off. So yeah, just kind of kept watch from the window.”
Mr Samuels said that he had moved into the property six months ago with his girlfriend.
He said: “I kind of came out and saw that there was shells from a bullet on the floor. We thought ‘bloody hell’.
“We saw the ambulance delivering CPR on someone for quite a while, my girlfriend was quite upset. It’s not something you want to see anywhere, but especially on your doorstep.”
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan tweeted: “The details of this tragic incident are deeply distressing & I am utterly heartbroken for the families and friends of those impacted.

Chief Superintendent Colin Wingrove of the Central South Command Unit, responsible for policing Lambeth and Southwark, said: “I am shocked and saddened by this incident.
"Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the two young men who have tragically lost their lives.
"This incident will cause a great deal of concern throughout the local community and across London.
“We are supporting Specialist Crime detectives, who are working at pace to confirm the specific sequence of events and identify and arrest those responsible.
“Local officers are on the scene and patrolling the local area to speak to local residents, seek witnesses and provide visible reassurance. I would urge anyone with any information however small to come forward to help bring whoever is responsible to justice.”
