Armed police have flocked to a residential road in south London.

Officers were called to reports of a shooting in Wandsworth Road at 5.30am today (February 26).

A man, who spoke with police, said shots were reportedly fired from a car near the junction with Printers Road. 

Trident detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command are now leading the investigation.

No arrests have been made as police enquires are ongoing.

No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call 101 and quote reference CAD 1264/26Feb.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 05:29hrs on Sunday, 26 February, to reports of a shooting in Wandsworth Road, SW8, near to the junction with Printers Road. 

“Armed officers attended and spoke with a man who said shots had been fired from a car. No injuries were reported. 

“Trident detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation and enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made. 

“Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 1264/26Feb.
