A man has been charged with murder as police investigate the death of a man in Wandsworth.

Police were called to Juniper Drive on Tuesday, May 23 following concerns for the welfare of the occupant.

When officers arrived at the address they found Peter Sisson, 60, inside.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paulo Mendes, 27, of no fixed address was charged on Sunday, May 28 with Peter’s murder.

Peter’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

A special post-mortem took place on Thursday, May 25 and no formal cause of death was established.

Further tests will be carried out.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Detectives investigating the death of a man in Wandsworth have charged a man with his murder.

“Paulo Mendes, 27 (15.04.96) of no fixed address was charged on Sunday, 28 May with the murder of Peter Sisson.

“He will appear in custody at a magistrates’ court on Monday, 29 May.

“Police were called on Tuesday, 23 May after concerns were raised for the welfare of an occupant of an address in Juniper Drive, SW18.

“Officers attended – inside the address they found 60-year-old Peter Sisson.

“He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

“A special post-mortem took place on Thursday, 25 May – no formal cause of death was established and further tests will be carried out.

“Due to the circumstances, detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation.”
