A 17-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after a shooting in Brixton.
The incident happened in Roycroft Close just after 1am on New Year's Day.
Police and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a boy injured.
He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.
His family have been informed.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on the evening of January 1.
He has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in March.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “An investigation is under way after a teenager was injured in a shooting in Brixton.
“Police were called at 1.01am on Monday, 1 January to reports of a person found injured in Roycroft Close, SW2.
“Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. A 17-year-old boy was found with a gunshot injury.
“He was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening. His family have been informed.
“On the evening of 1 January a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder - he has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in March.
“Enquiries are ongoing and any witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 541/01Jan.
