A man accused of threatening another man with a knife at a Powys homeless shelter will face trial at the crown court after telling a judge that he is not guilty of the offences.
Brandon Wood, 29, denied threatening Ben Shields with a Stanley knife at the Gwynfa hostel in Llandrindod Wells on March 5.
He also pleaded not guilty to assaulting Mr Shields and damaging a fire alarm at the Pobl Housing Association-owned Lant Avenue property on the same day.
Wood, formerly of Llandrindod Wells but now living at Crown Street, Newtown, was told that he must remain in prison while he waits for his trial to begin in three months' time.

His Honour Judge Simon Mills fixed a date for the trial, which is expected to last three days, for Tuesday, August 6, at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court.
He said: "This matter was on my list last week, but we were told, which is of concern to the defendant, that the prison he’s being held has, and to quote, 'never heard of him'.
"Your trial is going to take place on the 6th of August with a time estimate for three days. That is a date that is very important to you.
"It’s very, very important to attend court when you are required to and that particularly applies to your trial date.
"Your case is adjourned until that time, and you’ll remain in custody."
