A man is in hospital after being hit by a bus in Putney on one of London’s busiest roads.
The emergency services were called to Putney High Street around 2.30pm today (June 25).
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with an arm injury, where his condition is not yet known.
The High Street was closed for three hours following the incident.
Bus routes 14, 39, 85, 93, 424 and 430 were sent on a diversion with congestion as cars were redirected.
The Fulham Road to Morden Hall Road stretch of the A219 southbound, including Putney High Street, was identified as London's "most congested" route in a 2022 report by INRIX.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Officers responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and a bus in Putney High Street, Putney at 14:30hrs on Wednesday, 25 June.
“The pedestrian was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
"His condition is yet to be confirmed.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 2.28pm today (25 June) to reports of a road traffic collision on Putney High Street, SW15.
“We sent ambulance crews and a paramedic in a fast response car to the scene.
"We treated a man for an arm injury and took him to a major trauma centre."
