A visiting camel helped re-enact the story of the Three Kings for children in Battersea.

The Sacred Heart RC Primary School in Battersea celebrated the Feast of the Epiphany with a special outdoor gathering on January 6 with Deacon Michael.

The service featured Baxter, a camel, who helped to bring the biblical story of the Three Kings to life for the children.

Despite frosty weather, children, staff, and parents joined the outdoor service, singing and praying together.

After the service, the students had the opportunity to meet Baxter up close, learning interesting facts about camels and their adaptations from his handlers.

The event provided the school community with an opportunity to reflect on the Epiphany's message.

"The celebration included a very special guest — Baxter the camel — who helped to re-enact the story. This brought the story vividly to life as the journey of the Three Kings visiting the baby Jesus was shared."
