Police are investigating a suspected arson attack in Heath Road, Battersea, yesterday morning.
Firefighters attended a ground-floor flat at 3.15am after neighbours were awoken by their smoke alarm and called 999.
No-one was injured as the burning flat was empty, but the flames destroyed 15 per cent of the property.
Four people from other flats left the building before Clapham fire crews put out the blaze in less than ten minutes.
Police are expected to release further details today.
