What do dogs, cats and art have in common? This March Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will be joining forces with London’s Affordable Art Fair to help raise money for the thousands of animals that come into the charity’s care each year. And the event will be opened by actress and comedian Catherine Tate.

Catherine Tate said: “I’m a big fan of Battersea’s work and I have a Battersea cat, so it’s a real privilege to support the charity by opening the Affordable Art Fair. It’s a great event in the art calendar and hopefully it will raise lots of money for the charity.”

The fair, which is open to the public from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 March, will be officially opened by Catherine Tate on Wednesday 9 March for an exclusive Charity Private View. Tickets to the Private View cost £25 and all proceeds will go to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Throughout the event Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will be holding a daily Silent Auction for desirable pieces of art on their stand, including artwork from The Snowman, signed by creator Raymond Briggs. There will also be a raffle with some great art to be won. And if you’re considering getting a new furry friend, pop across the road to Battersea’s main site and visit some of the dogs and cats looking for loving new homes.

Whether your moggie’s into Monet or your pooch prefers Picasso, you can purchase some of London’s most exciting and affordable art whilst helping a good cause. The fair will host 120 galleries exhibiting paintings, prints, sculptures and photography for prices ranging from as little as £100 to £4000.

The exclusive Charity Private View is open from 5.30pm to 9.30pm. To purchase tickets please phone 020 7627 9309, email events@battersea.org.uk or visit www.battersea.org.uk.
