Avanti West Coast has urged rail passengers to check train times before travelling on Sunday (November 20) ahead of a strike.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) will walk out in a row over rosters.

As a result very few services will be running and operating hours will be limited, so Avanti West Coast has said on its Twitter page to "Please check before you travel".

The RMT said Avanti train managers are angry at having their work-life balance ruined, with significant cuts to rest days and short notice changes to shift patterns.

General secretary Mick Lynch said: ā€œAvantiā€™s treatment of their staff is some of the worst weā€™ve seen in the industry and their overall mismanagement of the franchise is causing repeated cancellations for passengers.

ā€œAvanti continue to operate with a siege mentality hoping that our members will simply give in."

What Avanti West Coast services will be running on Sunday?

Only one train per hour will be running from London EustonĀ to each of Manchester, Glasgow, and Liverpool, with services to Liverpool going via the West Midlands.

This route will include calls at Coventry, Birmingham International, Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton.

North Wales, Shrewsbury, Chester, Blackpool and Edinburgh will have no services at all.

Additionally, due to the limited operating hours the first train will depart from London Euston at 8am and the last one will leave from there at 4.30pm.
